app advice for speech-language pathologists, educators and parents

about this site

Our website is designed to  sift through the countless speech and language apps available to find some of the best in the business.  New apps come out every day and it’s hard to keep up.  Even websites that review apps for kids  often provide so much information that it can be hard to know where to start.  There is just so much out there.

Speech-languageapps.com tries to keep it simple. For each targeted skill area listed, there might be just a handful of choices presented. It’s by no means an all inclusive list, but we hope it’s a good start.  We’ve tried to pick the very best to help adults who help kids with speech and language delays.

If you scroll to the bottom of the screen, you will find a variety of iPad related resources that might be particularly useful if you are new to this technology. We have tried to cover the basics, including how to choose an iPad to suit your needs, how to acquire and update apps in iTunes and how to arrange and delete your apps on the screen.

The iPad is a wonderful tool and it is transforming the way many of us deliver services. If you have a child with speech-language needs and have recently acquired an iPad, we hope you will find this website helpful. If we’ve missed something, by all means let us know.
